Specialty Plates

Anyone wanting Wildlife Conservation plates no longer has to order through WYDOT.  As of 07/01/2025, County Treasurer's may issue them upon payment of the required fees.  These plates cost $180.00 to obtain and for each renewal of the plate, an additional $50.00 is charged for benefit of Wyoming Wildlife Conservation.  Inquire by calling the office at 307-328-2631 or by visiting the office located at 215 W. Application Process

The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) issues most specialty plates. Applications can be found by visiting WYDOT's specialty plate website at Specialty Plates. The application process takes approximately 4-6 weeks. Specialty plates that do not require registration (pioneer, street rod, custom vehicle, sample, novelty) will be mailed directly to the customer. All other specialty plates will be mailed to the designated County Treasurer’s Office to be registered.

Plate Series

All specialty plates are valid to be displayed for the plate series which they were issued and renewed.
