Mailing Address Change Request

Wyoming Veteran Exemption
The Carbon County Assessor and Staff would like to remind all veterans that it is time to sign up for the veteran exemption for your principal residence.
Please contact our office by phone 307-328-2637 or just stop by between the hours of 8 till 5 Monday through Friday.
A qualified veteran may sign up for the 2026 exemption between January 1st, 2026 and the 4th Monday in May of 2026.
Wyoming Homeowner Exemption
Beginning in tax year 2026, any taxpayer that owns and resides in a single family residential structure as defined in W.S. 39-11-105(a)(xlvi) may be eligible to claim an exemption, if they reside on property for not less than eight (8) months of the year.
To apply for this exemption, simply complete the affidavit process, which starts with the link here. Your individual application will be reviewed by your local County Assessor to ensure you qualify.

oming Long Term Homeowners Exemption
Who can qualify?
Property owner or spouse who are 65 years and older.
Has paid residential property taxes for 25 years or more anywhere in the State of Wyoming.
Applicant must be listed on the deed.
Must be the applicant's primary residence.
Applicant must reside in the residence at least 8 months of the year.
Application will be required annually
Owner must submit an application to the County Assessor no later than the 4th Monday in May of each year on a form provided by the Department of Revenue.
This year’s application will be due by Monday May 25th, 2026.
Applications are available now at Carbon County Assessor Office located at 215 W. Buffalo St., Room 262 Rawlins, WY 82301 or by calling 307-328-2637. Owner or spouse must turn application into the Carbon County Assessor’s Office with verification of age required at time application is turned in.
